Services
My counseling approach is relational and collaborative, and my goal is to empower you on your path to healing. I specialize in working with trauma, family violence, BPD, neurodivergence, and issues of gender identity or sexual orientation.
I aim to center your experiences in a healing process that is culturally responsive and social justice-oriented. I believe that each person is the expert on themselves and their experiences, and my role is to be a supportive guide throughout the healing process.
I am neurodiversity-affirming, and a member of the LGBTQIA+ community. I believe that working toward wellness is a subversive act for marginalized communities in our society. As Audre Lorde said, "Caring for myself is not self-indulgence. It is self-preservation, and that is an act of political warfare."
I honor all identities and backgrounds, and I want to help you navigate any challenges inside or out. I look forward to meeting with you!

Comprehensive Adult Autism Assessments
If you’re seeking a deeper understanding of how your mind works—your strengths, challenges, sensory experiences, and patterns of thinking—an autism assessment can help provide clarity and language for those experiences.
At Marshall Counseling, the Adult Autism Assessments are neurodivergent-affirming, collaborative, and strengths-based. The process is guided by the MIGDAS-2 (Monteiro Interview Guidelines for Diagnosing Autism Spectrum), a well-respected assessment approach that centers lived experience and recognizes the diverse ways autism can present in adults.
My goal is not just to determine whether diagnostic criteria are met, but to help you better understand your brain, your needs, and the supports that may help you thrive.

I use a combination of these counseling tools:
-
EMDR Therapy to process memories of distressing experiences and calm your nervous system.
-
Dialectical-Behavioral Therapy to increase emotional regulation and distress tolerance skills.
-
Talk therapy to identify behavioral and thought patterns that no longer serve you and transform them to meet your goals.
-
Mindfulness techniques to give you greater awareness and control over your inner world.
A note on the current political climate:
Things are feeling particularly dangerous right now for marginalized communities in Texas and the US. Threats to the LGBTQ+ community and neurodivergent community are increasing, and are highly concerning to me as both a member of these communities and as a practitioner serving them.
For all my clients, current and prospective, I want you to know that I will do everything in my power to keep your information secure and private. I do not intend to comply with any unethical laws or demands that would put your safety at risk.
If you have concerns about this issue, please let me know and we can discuss all possible safety measures.
