About Mindfulness

What is Mindfulness?

Often, people associate mindfulness with meditation. Meditation can be a great way to practice mindfulness, but it’s about much more than that!

We all have some control over our mind’s focus, our attentional awareness, but sometimes that control is much harder than others. It’s much easier to be focused and present when you’re doing an activity you love, or trying something new and exciting. But it’s much more difficult when you’re anxious, overwhelmed, or overpowered by a big emotion.

Our goal with mindfulness is to intentionally practice that attentional control so that it becomes a bit easier in those difficult moments. We will work on incorporating these practices and skills into your daily life.
