Adult Autism Assessments
If you’re seeking a deeper understanding of how your mind works—your strengths, challenges, sensory experiences, and patterns of thinking—an autism assessment can help provide clarity and language for those experiences.
At Marshall Counseling, the Adult Autism Assessments are neurodivergent-affirming, collaborative, and strengths-based. The process is guided by the MIGDAS-2 (Monteiro Interview Guidelines for Diagnosing Autism Spectrum), a well-respected assessment approach that centers lived experience and recognizes the diverse ways autism can present in adults.
My goal is not just to determine whether diagnostic criteria are met, but to help you better understand your brain, your needs, and the supports that may help you thrive.

What Clients Often Gain From an Assessment
A Language for Your Experiences
Many clients leave with a clearer framework for understanding their internal experiences and communicating their needs with family, workplaces, or schools.

Professional validation can provide reassurance and help clarify potential supports, accommodations, and next steps.
Personalized Support Strategies
Your assessment includes practical recommendations and an individualized accommodations plan that goes beyond a typical diagnostic report.

Areas of Focus
I specialize in identifying individuals who may have been missed or misdiagnosed earlier in life, including those who mask or camouflage autistic traits and have lower support needs, such as AFAB/women and members of the LGBTQIA+ community

Autism often presents differently across individuals and identities. This approach is designed to recognize these differences with care and respect.

A Note About Self-Identification
Self-identification is widely respected within the autistic community. You do not need a formal evaluation to understand yourself or identify with autistic experiences.
An assessment is simply one tool for gaining additional validation, insight, or documentation if that is something you want.
You are encouraged to pursue the level of exploration that feels right for you.

Important Note
This assessment is designed for personal understanding and clinical insight.
It is not intended for disability claims or programs requiring formal psychological testing documentation. For those purposes, an evaluation from a licensed clinical psychologist may be more appropriate.
